It’s been a while since we had this theme, so we thought it was about time for – Time.

Time is an abstract concept – the fourth dimension; it flies or drags. Because of this it was interesting to see how our members approached this theme

Of course, timepieces of various types were featured, but what a variety – watches, clocks, eggtimers and sundials. Others submitted images reflecting particular times, like bedtime and feeding time. More ambitiously, some members attempted to portray the passing of time, a challenge when using a medium that, by its nature, captures such a brief period.

When the votes were counted it was a photo of a clock that was the favourite, but this one was presented in an imaginative way. Leisha Mofford’s Christmas at the Clock Tower showed this Brighton landmark in really dynamic way – strings of lights flowing from its clock faces.

Whilst there was a print round this month, there were only two entries, disappointingly: Andrew Jackson’s tryptich, Thrice and Tony Teague’s Sunrise, Heringfleet Mill. There was no vote, with both being declared joint favourites.

The image of the month section are photos taken by members since the last Show and Tell meeting. As ever, members submitted photos they had taken on their travels and outings, resulting in varied selection of images. The members’ favourite was Alastair Bell‘s study of a charming French church, Talmont Church.
