Calendar Shots – May 2026

In recent years West Haddon Photo Club has produced a calendar featuring the work of the members. Photos are from locations near West Haddon or neighbouring counties and the calendars are sold at Photo Show.

This year we’ll be producing another for 2027, so the theme this month was to encourage our members to submit some calendar-worthy photos for us to choose from.

Whilst there were some constraints – landscape format, in colour, interesting enough to be looked at for a month and local, of course – our members rose to the challenge and produced some lovely photos. Some of which will feature in our calendar.

Voting was quite widely spread, as usual, although a superbly colourful photo of tulips caught the eye of several members. However, this month’s most voted for photo was almost a polar opposite; an almost monochrome image of three trees that seem to be huddling together for warmth in the snow in Adrian Chandler’s We Tree Kings.

The image of the month section features photos taken by members since the last Show and Tell meeting. Whereas usually there’s a wide selection of subjects, this month several were of the interior of Papplewick Pumping Station, a photoshoot many of our members enjoyed immensely. Two photos tied as the members’ favourites: Andrew Jackson’s abstract and well-observed Spiny Norman (can you tell what it is?) and Wilting, Adrian Chandler’s chiaroscuro still life study.
