Easily overlooked and notorious for the places where dust and cobwebs collect, corners, nooks and crannies were our theme for June's Show and Tell meeting.

This theme had our members poking their lenses into all sorts of places so they could present us with a wide selection of subjects. We saw plenty of examples of most types of corners, nooks and crannies, and some crevices and niches for good measure.

Initially our members may have been scratching their heads as to what to submit this month. The beauty of the theme title is that it made eveyone think imaginatively about what subject would work, and also increased their observational skills. The submitted images ranged from the large scale - corner shops, cathedrals and city walls - to the intimate, found in gardens, churches and staircases. However it was an imaginative image that became the members favourite - Parallel Parking by Jane Weston, an amusing image demonstrating her compositional and depth of field skills.

The Image of the Month section of our Show and Tell meetings are photos taken by members since the last meeting. This month it was obvious that holiday season is with us as a number of images had been taken by members on their travels. A couple of submissions were from members who had been inspired by Janie Chapman's fascinating talk on ICM. The members' favourite, though was Alastair Bell's  There is a 5am, a wonderfully atmospheric image of Mont-Saint-Michel, soaked with rich morning colours.
