About Photo Show 2024

This year marked the 10th anniversary of West Haddon Photo Club’s annual Photo Show. As with past shows it is a unique opportunity for local photographers, members of West Haddon Photo Club, other nearby photo clubs or indeed anyone with a photo they want to share, to show their work in a public exhibition of prints and digital images. Best of all it's free to enter.

Over the years Photo Show has gained in popularity - this year we had over 270 beautiful photographs entered in print and digital form. The prints were displayed throughout the enchanting Grade I listed All Saints' church in West Haddon and a rolling display showed digital images during the show. We don't believe there's another comparable photo exhibition in the area that caters to amateur photographers of all abilities. And we think our visitors agree - over 200 people attended over the two days.

We asked all our visitors to vote for their favourite print and digital image - not an easy task with so many excellent images in the show. The winners of last years' vote are shown above and each won a voucher generously donated by Picture Perfect in Duston for print and framing services. We're delighted that they again donated a £20 voucher for each category this year - thank you to them. The winners were: Print Category - Buzzing by Caroline Bradbury and Digital Category - Badger by Francis de Clermont. Congratulations to them!

To encourage a new generation of photographers we asked pupils of West Haddon Primary School to submit some images on the theme of ‘What makes you happy this summer' and we showed them as part of our rolling display. They were so good they made some of us older photographers a bit envious! Well done to Caitlin who received the most votes for her delightful picture of a fox.

This year we held some short talks titled 'Creative Camera Techniques' which were given by Graham Fowler, one of our members. There were a couple of talks each afternoon during which Graham explained how to improve your creativity when taking photos.

Once again our 2025 Calendar, featuring photos taken locally by our members, was on sale and sold out during the show. Thank you to everyone who bought one.

Members of West Haddon Photo Show were on hand throughout both days to welcome visitors and answer any questions you had about Photo Show and the club.

Everyone who came along praised the standard of the images on display - thank you to all the photographers who have took the time to submit their photos and make our 10th Photo Show such a success.

We're already looking ahead to next year's Photo Show which will be held in All Saints' Church on 11th & 12th October 2025.
