They don't build things like that nowadays. We are surrounded by buildings, structures and objects that, built to last, have lasted much longer than their creators expected, so there was plenty of inspiration for this month's theme.

With plenty of subjects to choose from the subjects featured in the submitted photos were wide and varied. Our love of preservation was well represented with images of old vehicles, planes and trains. Buildings tend to last the longest and there were many examples, from the relatively young (a century or so) to the ancient.

This variety made voting for a favourite somewhat of a challenge and when the votes were counted, they were spread far and wide across the submissions. However three images jointly received the most votes: Watch Out Red Baron by Pyers Tucker, The Alhambra by Chrissie Shun and Multiliths by Alastair Bell.

This month we also gave members an opportunity to submit prints in lieu of digital images for their theme submission. Only four members took up the chance to do this and there was one clear favourite with our members - Repurposed by Andrew Jackson.

Our Image of the Month round contains photos taken since our last Show and Tell meeting. Our recent photoshoot as guests of Rugby Model Engineering Society provided a couple of the entries, others were from holidays and outings. The favourite photo was Colin Waite's Fast Food, a marvellous image of a swallow on the wing feeding its young.
