Meetings & Events Planned For 2019

Monthly 'Show & Tell' Meetings

Our regular monthly meetings are a chance to share and talk about our images and give and receive friendly constructive criticism and advice. They are a great way to learn how others get the effects they do, and can be an inspiration for our own photography.

Up to three images may be submitted on the monthly theme and will be shown and discussed at the monthly meeting. We prefer you to upload the images to Dropbox or, alternatively, email them to at least 24 hours before the meeting. You can bring them on the evening on a USB memory stick if you prefer.

As well as the three theme photos you are invited to show on ‘image of the month’ for which the only criterion is that it must have been taken since the last monthly meeting.

All our monthly ‘Show & Tell’ meetings start at 7.30pm in The Baptist Schoolroom, Guilsborough Road, NN6 7AD unless otherwise stated, with coffee, or tea, and biscuits from 7.00pm. The monthly themes for 2019 are:

It's a Funny Way to Make a Living - Dr. Michael Leach

At 7pm on Thursday 3rd October at Pitsford School (NN6 9AX) West Haddon Photo Club and Inspire Photography are jointly presenting a talk by Dr. Michael Leach.

Dr. Leach is a full-time wildlife author and photographer. He has travelled to all 7 continents and worked with many of the world's most charismatic animals - from pole (polar bears in the Arctic) to pole (penguins in the Antarctic), and much else inbetween.

Michael admits that being paid to visit remote and exotic destinations to study some of the most fascinating wildlife on earth is a dream job. But the envious should consider the giant bugs, cold, lack of sleep, foul smells, underhand skullduggery, horrible food, exhaustion and frequent embarrassment that go with it.

If you have watched BBC wildlife programmes there's a good chance you will have seen his work, so this likely to be an interesting and informative talk.

Tickets are £6 (if you are not a member of West Haddon Photo Club or Inspire Photography) - to obtain them please email
